Defibrotide: potential for treating endothelial dysfunction related to viral and post-infectious syndromes

چکیده
Introduction Defibrotide (DF) is a polyribonucleotide with antithrombotic, pro-fibrinolytic, and anti-inflammatory effects on endothelium. These the established safety of DF present as strong candidate to treat viral post-infectious syndromes involving endothelial dysfunction.Areas Covered We discuss other therapeutic agents that have potential target components pathogenesis in syndromes. introduce defibrotide (DF), describe its mechanisms action, explore pleiotropic pathophysiology Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) highlight processes specific COVID-19 potentially modulated by DF. also influenza A hemorrhagic fevers, especially those caused hantavirus, Ebola virus, dengue which might serve benefit. Finally, we offer our opinion novel treatment strategies targeting dysfunction infections their severe manifestations.Expert Opinion Given critical role numerous infectious syndromes, particular COVID-19, pharmacology for these conditions should increasingly prioritize stabilization. Several protective properties be further studied treatments vasculitides, where modalities failed.

Potential Vaccines for Treating Crohn\'s Disease
Crohn's disease (CD) is an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) tract and can affect several parts of the digestive system. There is a relationship between impaired mucosal barrier in the GIT of inflammatory bowel disease patients and the role of bacteria such as Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis in CD. Apart from different therapeutic approaches for treating CD, developm...
متن کاملIron contributes to endothelial dysfunction in acute ischemic syndromes.
Acute Ischemic Syndromes To the Editor: Congratulations to Duffy et al1 on their well-written article, “Iron Chelation Improves Endothelial Function in Patients With Coronary Disease.” We completely agree that increased body iron stores may be a risk factor for atherosclerosis and may accelerate endothelial dysfunction in acute ischemic syndromes. Hence, deferoxamine, an iron chelator, should p...

There is a pressing need to reduce the high global disease burden of rheumatic heart disease (RHD) and its harbinger, acute rheumatic fever (ARF). ARF is a classical example of an autoimmune syndrome and is of particular immunological interest because it follows a known antecedent infection with group A streptococcus (GAS). However, the poorly understood immunopathology of these post-infectious...

OBJECTIVE To delineate the risk factors, symptom patterns, and longitudinal course of prolonged illnesses after a variety of acute infections. DESIGN Prospective cohort study following patients from the time of acute infection with Epstein-Barr virus (glandular fever), Coxiella burnetii (Q fever), or Ross River virus (epidemic polyarthritis). SETTING The region surrounding the township of D...
متن کاملAlmost all irritable bowel syndromes are post-infectious and respond to probiotics: consensus issues.
Several reports have described post-infectious irritable bowel syndrome (Pi-IBS), while many animal and human studies have shown the presence of increased infiltration of inflammatory cells and hyperplasia of enterochromaffin cells in the intestinal mucosa after acute gastroenteritis. The potential value of probiotic bacteria in restoring normal gut function has been demonstrated by animal mode...
